Die Story des auld Triangle - Liedes |

"The Auld Triangle" ist ein Lied das von Brendan Behan geschrieben wurde.
Dieses Musikstück hat eine Art Eigenleben entwickelt und wurde dadurch zu einer Art irischen Hymne. Die Liste der Gruppen oder Sänger, die dieses Lied gecovert haben ist sehr beachtlich. Es waren: The Dubliners, The Pogues, The Doug Anthony Allstars und besonders hervorzuheben ist Dropkick Murphys.
Eine ungewöhnliche Live Version, aufgenommen in der Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, ist auf dem Life Debüt Album "The Dawning of the day" von der Dubliner Pipe Band St. Lawrance O´Toole. Von Version zu Version wurde der Text des Liedes abgeändert, so wie es bei vielen Irischen Balladen der Fall ist.
Das Lied wurde noch von unzähligen anderen großartigen Musikern wie Bob Dylan und seiner Band gecovert. Dies ist auch sehr aktuell er Fall. Auf dem Album The Black Swan von Bert Jansch (2006) ist es ebenso zu finden wie auf Alben von Jeff Tweedy der das Lied auf seiner Tour DVD Sunken Treasure veröffentlicht hat.
